Water Damage - Huntsville Home

Water damage struck this Huntsville home when the toilet overflowed due to the supply tank not shutting off. There was a lot of water that affected the bathroom, hallway and 4 other areas.  SERVPRO of North Huntsville was contacted by the property owner to provide water clean-up services. We dispatched a crew immediately, and when they arrived, they extracted the standing water after moving some of the furniture in some of the areas to gain access. After extracting the water, treating the affected areas with an anti-microbial, they set up commercial air movers and dehumidifiers to speed up the drying process and remove the moisture from the air. Due to the water getting under the laminate flooring in the hall it was required to remove the flooring. Once we received approval from the insurance adjuster we removed the flooring in order to get the affected area dry. Our crew chief went to the home each day to get moisture readings to make sure everything was drying properly. Once our moisture monitoring equipment showed that the affected structural materials were dry, we removed our drying equipment. We provided drying reports, photo documentation, and job notes to their insurance adjuster along with the final invoice. The customer did not have to worry about getting all the information to the insurance adjuster we handled that for them.
