During a mold inspection, our trained technicians focus on identifying 'hot spots' in the home where elevated moisture levels in materials such as drywall may cause future mold growth. Examples may include around windows, under sinks, around plumbing, etc. The inspector will also look for visible mold that may already be present, and will take note of musty odors that may indicate the presence of mold. 

In conjunction with these steps, our technicians also have the ability to take air, swab, and tape samples in order to obtain a detailed report from an independent lab showing exactly what mold varieties are present and at what spore counts. 

Mold spores are a natural part of all environments on Earth and can be found on almost any surface. They can exist in a home and present no problem as long as the spore counts stay within a natural range and no over-growth occurs. The natural ranges that are generally accepted as 'non-problematic' vary based on which mold variety is being looked at. Mold testing is incredibly useful when identifying whether an over-growth is occurring in your home or business, even if it is not yet visible to the naked eye.
